THREE ROUNDS OF SELECTION FOR JOURNALIST SCHOOL
Selection start
Show us why you're passionate about journalism and what you've done so far. Tell us what motivates you, which topics particularly fascinate you, and what you'd like to change in journalism. Please also send us your CV. Just be yourself when answering the questions. We want to get to know you as well as possible.
ROUND 1
ROUND 2
Selection day
We invite promising talents to our digital selection day. You'll create a contribution beforehand; this can be a video, an audio piece, or a written text. On the selection day, we'll give you a journalistic task. We'll also administer a knowledge test to assess your expertise in your area of interest.
ROUND 3
Selection interviews
We invite the best applicants to a selection interview in Berlin. In the third round, you'll meet members of the editorial team and us. The interview lasts about 30 minutes and takes place with one or two other applicants. Here, we want to learn more about you and give you an impression of our media company.

There are no formal entry requirements for the selection process; only talent and passion for journalism count. Prior editorial experience is not mandatory, but it is an advantage.
Language is everything and everything is language
The German language is a central component of the training. It is a means of expression, a style, and so much more. English is advantageous and essential if, for example, you are training in an editorial office abroad.

You must be of legal age to start the apprenticeship. You can apply from the age of 17. Our teams often have a wide age range.
Ability requires permission
You have a work permit for Germany or come from the EU and are therefore entitled to work here.
